Ellen Buchanan is the Director of the Missoula Redevelopment Agency and lives and works in downtown Missoula.  She is a graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY where she received a degree in architecture with an emphasis in urban design.  She has held positions with local government in economic development, planning and community development in a wide variety of locations in the US.  She has also spent time in private practice as a planner and urban designer.  Ellen has a passion for downtown and central city redevelopment that originated with her father being a downtown merchant and was fostered by seven years of living and working in New York City.
