Karen Sullivan is director of business development at Community Medical Center in Missoula. In her role at CMC, Sullivan oversees the hospital’s business development and outreach efforts, along with marketing and public relations. She is a member of the hospital’s Senior Leadership Team. Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Montana and a master’s degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. In addition to her duties with CMC and the Missoula Area Economic Development Corp., Sullivan is a member of the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the board’s Executive Committee. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Mineral Community Hospital, Superior, Mont. In 2005, Sullivan was appointed by Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer to the State Workforce Investment Board, and chaired SWIB’s Healthcare Workforce Shortage Task Force. In 2006, Sullivan was chair of Missoula’s 1st annual Go Red For Women Luncheon, an event of the American Heart Association. The event raised awareness about women’s No. 1 health risk, cardiac disease, and netted $50,000. Sullivan is an affiliate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and was a member of the charter class of Leadership Montana.
